Children’s Speech and Drama Classes

We offer Children’s Speech and Drama Classes in Rathmines, Dún Laoghaire, Booterstown, Glenageary and Castleknock. Start from as young as 4 and work your way up to a Performance or Teaching Diploma, with many fun milestones in between!
Our ethos is “serious play”! Students build confidence, improve their speech clarity and nurture their creativity through storytelling, improvisation, mime, poetry, plays, and lots of fun games. We lay a strong foundation in technique that people carry with them throughout their lives, both on and off the stage.
Step 1 Speech and Drama Classes (for ages 4-6)
This 1 hour class provides an excellent introduction to the world of drama and theatre. We build a strong foundation in speech and drama skills through poetry recital, storytelling, mime, and improvisation, with exercises for speech clarity and lots of fun games. This is the youngest of our children’s speech and drama classes, and suitable for children aged 4-6 in Junior and Senior Infants.
Step 2 Speech and Drama Classes (for ages 7-8)
This 90 minute class bridges the gap between step 1 and the junior class. It’s suitable for children aged 7-8 in 1st-2nd class. We build a strong foundation in speech and drama skills through poetry recital, storytelling, mime, and improvisation, with exercises for speech clarity and lots of fun games. Students have the option to take part in poetry competitions and Grade examinations, and perform in a full scale production in a professional theatre.
Juniors Speech and Drama Classes (for ages 9-12)
This 2.5 hour class is a jam-packed mix of fun and hard work. We develop a strong foundation in voice, acting and movement through poetry recital, reading aloud, storytelling, mime, improvisation, and character work, with exercises for clear and confident speech and lots of fun games. Students have the option to take part in competitions and Grade examinations, and perform in a full scale production in a professional theatre. It’s suitable for children aged 9-12 in 3rd-6th class.
Age 8-12 Just for Fun Drama Classes
This 1 hour class offers a lower cost and lower commitment alternative to our Junior Drama classes. While the Junior class involves preparation of solo and group work for speech and drama exams, competitions and public performances, the focus of this class is more on the soft skills which drama offers, creating a sense of fun and play in the week. These classes involve movement, improvisation, drama games and the development of key social skills.
