Step 2 Speech and Drama (1st-2nd Class)

Description

Our Step 2 Speech and Drama Classes are perfect for children aged 7-8 in 1st and 2nd class. In keeping with the school year, our classes are split into three terms, with each term building towards a showcase for family and friends.

Dates for 2026 / 2027

Term 1: September – December 2026
Our dedicated teachers work with students to build a strong foundation in speech and drama skills through poetry, storytelling, and games, while students prepare performance pieces for optional grade exams.

• Starts: Week commencing 31st August
• Ends: Week ending 13th December
• Holidays: October Mid-term Break (Monday October 26th-Sunday November 1st inclusive)
• Duration: 14 weeks
• Cost: €420 (option to pay in instalments)

Term 2: January – May 2027
Each class in the school joins together to rehearse and perform a full scale production in a professional theatre. Additionally, students prepare for optional poetry and drama competitions. 

• Starts: Week commencing 4th January
• Ends: Week ending 30th May
• Holidays:
  • No Class February Midterm Monday-Sunday February 15th-21st inclusive
  • No Class on St. Patrick’s Day Wednesday March 17th
  • No Class Easter Break Monday March 22nd to Sunday April 4th inclusive
  • Class WILL run on Saturdays over February/May bank holiday weekends as well as February 13th and March 20th
• Duration: 18 weeks
• Cost: €540 (option to pay in instalments)

Fees

Each 90 minute class costs €30, and students enrol and pay their fees at the start of each term. Additionally, we offer discounts for siblings and returning students, get in touch with us to avail of your discount.

Joining mid-year

We welcome new students to our Step 2 classes at any term if there’s space available, and no previous drama experience is required for joining.

Note: Children in Senior Infants who have attended 2 years of Step 1 classes with us can join in Senior Infants if desired. Term 1 involves preparation for drama exams, and Term 2 leads up to a performance in a professional theatre, which we recommend for children aged 7 and over.
